Title: Devante Parker being traded to Patriots

The Miami Dolphins are trading former first-round draft pick Devante Parker. According to the NFL Network, Miami is working with Parker for the 2023 third round selection and the New England Patriots for the 2022 fifth round selection.

Parker was ranked 14th overall in the 2015 draft. The former Lewisville wide receiver has made 338 appearances for 4,727 yards and 24 touchdowns in his NFL career, including his only score against the Patriots in the 2015 season finale.

He will now face his former team twice a season, joining AFC East Division rivals. Miami recently acquired extensive receiver Tyreek Hill in a trade with Kansas City Chiefs.

Devante Parker being traded to Patriots

The Patriots acquired Parker and a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange for a third-round choice in 2023.

After missing out on some of the biggest free agent names out there, New England finally made an impact addition when they traded for Parker.

Parker’s name has been mentioned in trade rumors fairly frequently lately, as the idea of being the third option behind Hill and Jaylen Waddle likely didn’t appeal to him.

Even with some iffy performances last year, teams like New England had a great deal of interest in a taller possession receiver like Parker.

While Bill Belichick may have liked Parker, he was not going to acquire him if it meant parting with any of New England’s premium picks.

After some tussle between Belichick and Chris Greer, it looks like two bitter division rivals have agreed to a swap that will send Parker to Foxboro.
